Who Is Jesus To You?

There seems to be no argument that at some point in history a man named Jesus lived.  Historical writers such as Josephus have well documented the fact that a man named Jesus lived.  But that is where the agreement seems to end.

From that point on people are divided on who this man really is and people have been divided on this single issue since Jesus was walking on the earth.  You see some believe that Jesus was just a good man, some believe he was just some kind of teacher, some believed he would have been king, and yet others believe that he is God’s Son the savior of the world.

Our belief in who Jesus is effects the way we live our daily lives.

If Jesus was just a good man, then we can brush him off as a goodie two shoes and live our lives the way we want to.

If Jesus was just a teacher, then we can agree or disagree with his teaching and formulate our own hypothesis on how we should live.

If Jesus was to be King, then we would be forced by law to do what he has said, and we would be oppressed in our way of living.

But if Jesus is Savior of the World. Then we owe our lives to him, and we will be good as he was good, and we will live by his teaching because of our love for him, and we will follow his laws and decrees out of respect for him.

9 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.
10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

John 1:9-12

The Word of God clearly states that some rejected Jesus as Savior and some received him as Savior.  Which will it be for you?

You see who we believe Jesus is does effect who we are.

Those who thought he was a good man especially the rich young ruler walked away and went and lived life the way he wanted to, we can assume the other did the same.

Those who believed Jesus was a teacher eventually rejected Jesus teaching and tried to undermine everything that he ever said to the point of telling lies and twisting what he had said.  We can assume that they went on teaching what they had always taught.

Those who believed he was a king eventually killed him, they all tried at some point.  We assume they were happy not having another king around to tell them what to do.

But those who believed He was the Savior- Their lives all changed- Their lives gained purpose, they realized they had a higher call in life.  They realized they had an important role to play.  They realized that life had new meaning.

So who do you think Jesus is?

Are you searching for true meaning and purpose?
Do you feel like their should be more to life than you are experiencing now?
Do you want to really know what your role in life is?

If you do, you need to believe in Jesus as Savior.

Jesus said, in John 11:25- "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;

There is no life outside of Jesus as Savior.
